Lyrical Alliance has been beginning to pick up a bit of a reputation in Leeds as the place to go to remember why you’re glad to live in the city. Their nights are worth checking as there’s always a range of artists competing with each other to demonstrate verbal dexterity and wit. And this Friday sees some of our favourite locals all in one room, at precisely NO cost to celebrate the album lunch for Piffy Clyro. On the bill you can check out Obi Joe and his Birmingham based sparring partner Andrew 3000 who trade witticism and insight, Precinct Phantom and Chills who lace their homages to blunts and beers with self-deprecting humour and head-nodding beats, and the intricate and warm rhymes from spoken word supremo Heinous Rhymes (pictured) whose been collaborating with Lence and DJ Agent M recently.
It’s an early gig so don’t sleep – the weekend starts at 5.30pm. See you then..
